Prayer is an action we take that cultivates increasing devotion to Jesus in all areas of life. This is a primary way we can have daily fellowship with God.
how it works
This prayer model is meant to help us remember the important elements of prayer which Jesus outlines in Matthew 6:9-13. This is intended to be a guide and a tool to help provide focus in your prayer time. When used within a group, start off by announcing the prayer model and giving some direction. For example you could say, “Tonight let's use the T.A.C.O.S. prayer model to help guide our time in prayer. To start, we will begin with thanksgiving. This is a time to thank the Lord for all that he has done and will do”. Then, at the appropriate time in the prayer, announce each topic to move the group through the time of prayer.
The prayer time should be open where you and others can pray as the Holy Spirit leads. No one is required to pray and people can pray quietly or aloud. It is encouraged to pray through Scripture, as God’s word expresses his desires for our heart and mind; examples are below.
