SPECIAL NURSERY NOTE - The Nursery is now staffed beginning at 7:45 on Sunday mornings, so it is available during the early Eucharist! And good news! The nursery is now upstairs again in newly renovated space! Inside renovation is complete, and the Nursery committee is working toward finishing redecorating and refurnishing.

INQUIRERS CLASSES CONTINUE - This year we are offering a variety of opportunities for inquiring minds to explore the Christian tradition as expressed in the Episcopal Church. On Wednesdays, at 7:00 p.m., Elizabeth leads an Inquirers' Class for adults - college and beyond. On Sundays at 9:15 a.m., there are two Inquirers' Classes. David has a class for adults and Elizabeth has a class for young people beginning with 8th graders. The Rt. Rev. Duncan M. Gray, III, will visit Resurrection on Palm Sunday, April 8th, at which time we will celebrate Baptisms and Confirmations. If you are interested in participating in any of these classes, please contact David or Elizabeth.

BISHOP GRAY'S VISIT on Palm Sunday will also be an occasion for us to give thanks for the long and fruitful ministry of Dr. Joel Harrison at Church of the Resurrection. Palm Sunday will be Joel's last Sunday with us as organist-choirmaster, as he prepares to assume his full responsibilities in Indianapolis, Indiana. We will celebrate his ministry during the reception following the service.

CAMP BRATTON-GREEN APPLICATIONS are in the office for campers, counselors and adult staff. Camper registration forms can be mailed March 1st and should be mailed then, or soon after to insure getting the camp session you want.

BIRTHDAY SUNDAY is March 4th. Join us in the Student Center after the 10:30 service to celebrate with those having March birthdays.

TUESDAY NOON EUCHARIST AND SOUP LUNCHEONS will begin on Tuesday, March 6th. The hope is that working folks can come to the Eucharist, have a bowl of soup, and get back to work in an hour. Non-working folks are welcome too! The sign up sheet for soup and bread is in the narthex. Many thanks to the Don and Evelyn Emerich and Charles and Jean Little for organizing the luncheons!

SECOND SUNDAY SHARING is March 11th and we will be collecting canned goods and non- perishable items for the food pantry. The food will be taken to the Salvation Army which is the distribution center for Helping Hands Ministry. Helping Hands Ministry serves an average of ten people a week. Please be generous!

WOMEN'S SPIRITUALITY CIRCLE - This parish is sponsoring a Women's Spirituality Circle, the purpose of which is to offer a safe, open and supportive environment for exploring a variety of spiritual issues and challenges, as well as finding points of connection as a group. Women of varying religious traditions are welcomed! The group will meet Monday, March 12th at 7:00 p.m. in the Student Center. If you have questions call Linda Cox at 325-2091 (work) or 324-3876 (home).

COOKIES FOR KAIROS PRISON MINISTRY - For the first time in two years, a team is going into Parchman to minister to those who have been selected by the warden to participate in the program. The purpose of Kairos is to bring a significant Christian experience to the people in prison. A big part of Kairos involves cookies. The prisoners take cookies back into their unit to "buy" their safety from others who are not participating in the program. It takes a lot of cookies to get through the three-day program. The estimate has always been 15,000 dozen cookies. There are requirements for donating cookies for Kairos. Only home-baked cookies will do. The cookies must be bagged by the dozen in ziplock-type bags. They can be made ahead of time and frozen. Please do not include broken or burned cookies. They are a gift. If you have questions, call Mike Vance at 323-4070 days or 323-8612 in the evenings. Thank you for participating in this significant Christian experience. Cookies will be picked up early on Thursday, March 29th at Church of the Resurrection. If it is more convenient for you, they can be dropped off the day before.

THE VESTRY RETREAT has been rescheduled and will be held the evenings of March 27 and 28 at the church.

LABYRINTH - Canterbury Fellowship is sponsoring The Labyrinth Monday, April 9 through Wednesday, April 11 at the YMCA Auditorium on Campus. Come walk the sacred path, an ancient form of contemplative prayer. Guides will be present from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. to offer instruction. This is an excellent way to enter into Holy Week.

EASTER FLOWERS - Envelopes for special offering of Easter Lilies will be in the pews soon!

LENTEN MEDITATION GUIDE for students and others is available by email! To receive your free daily meditation, send a blank message to: joinLent2001@epicom.org. Information sheets are posted on the bulletin boards.

BAPTISM SUNDAYS - There are two Baptism Sundays coming up. If you or your child would like to be baptized by the Bishop Coadjutor, The Rt. Rev. Duncan M. Gray, III, Palm Sunday, April 8, is the day. The Easter Vigil, Saturday evening, April 14, is also a traditional time for baptism. If you are interested in participating on either date, please contact Fr. Johnson or Elizabeth.

NEW PARISH DIRECTORY - The new Parish Directory is ready!!! Pick up your copy (lavender cover) in the narthex or in the church office.

COMMITTEE FOR THE SEVERANCE OF A PASTORAL RELATIONSHIP - Senior Warden Leigh Jensen has appointed a committee to attend to the details of David's departure and the aspects of that transition. Sad as we are to have David and Nora leave, we want to make their departure a joyous occasion reflecting all that they have meant to this parish. There are many aspects in dealing with the severance of a pastoral relationship and the entire parish needs to participate in the process. If you have ideas or questions for this committee please contact Mary Eleanor Anderson, who is chairing this committee, at 323-3259 or committee members: Mary Lee Beal, Happy Deas, Ann McVey, Ellen Newsom, and Sherrie VanLandingham. We will need your help and your prayers.

RENOVATION COMMITTEE REPORT - The renovation work on the Nursery is 98% complete! All that remains to be completed is minor exterior painting. Bids will be received for the Phase 2 construction on Thursday, March 8, and hopefully construction on Phase 2 will begin around May 1st.

HONDURAS BUILDING MISSION - The deadline for applications is approaching! If you are interested in this exciting ministry, contact David Lewis at 325-2509 or dclewis@sarc.msstate.edu. There are application forms in the narthex.

THANKS to outgoing vestry members Michael Fazio, Bill Hill, and Hellen Polk for their dedicated service on the vestry. New members elected at the Annual Parish Meeting are David Lewis, Mary Eleanor Anderson and Marsha Williams.

CANTERBURY NEWS - The new diocesan Canon for Youth and College Ministries, the Rev. Canon Chuck Culpepper, will be in Starkville Tuesday, March 6. Chuck will preach at the Tuesday 6:30 p.m. service. While here, he hopes to hear from you - Youth, the University Community, and Parishioners - about your hopes, concerns and dreams about Youth and College Ministries in Starkville and across Mississippi. MSU students, faculty and staff, Resurrection parishioners and young people are invited to join us for the service and dinner. Please contact Elizabeth, if you plan to stay for dinner.

EYC - Applications for Jr. High DOY (March 23-25), and Happening #48 (March 30-April 1) are available in the church office.

DEADLINES - Please help us get news and notices out in a timely fashion. Have your notices for the Sunday Bulletin in the office by Wednesday noon, and for the Newsletter by the 15th of the month.

CONGRATULATIONS to Ann McVey who was elected to the Diocesan Executive Committee at Council in Tupelo, and to Larry and Jimmy Crowell and Jason Noffsinger who are now Eagle Scouts.

MANY THANKS to those who worked so hard to make the Wine and Cheese party at Council such a success, especially Susan Hill, Beth and Bill Batson, and Sherrie and David VanLandingham. The flowers and decorations were spectacular, the food was delicious, and a good time was had by all.

YOUR PRAYERS ARE ASKED FOR Marlene Evans, Gretchen Passons, Lavora Williams and Ruth Castellow, (David McMillen's mother) as they undergo treatment, Gayle de Haas who has a broken ankle, and Susie Owings who is having back trouble.
