SWIMMING POOL UPDATE - The pool is open! Many thanks to James and Juawice McCormick and Michael and Ellen Pearson for once again managing the pool. Don't forget that the pool operates independently from the church budget and depends entirely on donations to survive! A family "membership fee" of $75 is suggested, and $40 for singles. If payment is a hardship, drop by the office to register. The pool is a ministry for all to enjoy. If your grandchildren or other guests come for a week and need place to swim, please make a contribution you think is appropriate. The pool fund is handled through a different account from the church account, so please make a separate check out to Church of the Resurrection and mark it "pool fund". Drop it in the plate on Sunday or bring it by the office.

Remember: our rules are simple, but must be observed! No swimming alone: Children must be accompanied by an adult: Parishioners must accompany guests: No glass containers: Take your picnic or other trash home with you And last one out lock the gate!

Important reminder: Nelda's only responsibility with the pool is collecting checks and registrations. If you have questions or problems please contact the McCormicks at 324-3863 or Kazoo@netdoor.com or the Pearsons at 323-9113.

ST. MARTHA'S GUILD will meet June 4th in the Student Center at 12:30 p.m. for brown bag lunch and fellowship. New members are always welcome.

WOMAN'S SPIRITUALITY CIRCLE - The Woman's Spirituality Circle meets on Mondays at 7pm in the Student Center. This group offers women a safe, open and supportive environment for exploring a variety of spiritual issues and challenges. At present they are reading "The Feminine Faces of God." If you have questions call Linda Cox at 325-2091(w) or 324-3876 (h).

SECOND SUNDAY SHARING is June 10th. Please bring canned goods for the food pantry. When you go to the store remember those who are hungry in our community and buy a few extra staples for them.

OUTREACH NEWS - Safe Haven, a safe house for women and children, is in need of household items. When the women are ready to leave Safe Haven and begin a new life, many times they have nothing to take with them. If you have household items you no longer need or use, please consider donating them to Safe Haven. Examples of things needed are: dishes, pots and pans, linens, furniture and eating and cooking utensils. Any of the things used everyday in a household are needed. There is an ongoing need for personal care items also. These cannot be purchased with food stamps. As you travel, save the soap, shampoo and lotion form the hotel room to donate to Safe Haven. Safe Haven tries to give the women a large supply of these items when they begin their new life. If you have donations or need more information. Please contact Alice Jones, Safe Haven Outreach Coordinator.

RENOVATION COMMITTEE REPORT - Work has begun on the new drainage system north of the nursery. This will include digging a ditch through the parking lot toward the Scales property. Parking will be affected in the west third of the parking lot. In preparation for putting in new flooring in the Parish Hall, the present floor covering is being removed. The floor will be bare for a while, so please bear with us! The proposed schedule for the balance of the work should be arriving soon. We will do our best to keep you informed of what is happening. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact David VanLandingham.

CHRISTIAN EDUCATORS CONFERENCE - We are seeking Christian Educators to attend a workshop at Gray Center June 29-30. We are hoping to move in some new directions with Christian Ed for our children.
