NURSERY REMINDER - Beginning June 2nd, the Nursery will be staffed by parents and volunteers for the 10:30 service only. Please call Jay McCombs and let her know what dates you would like to keep the nursery. If each family takes a turn it should not burden anyone.

CPR TRAINING - Tracy Stebbins will be teaching a class on Infant and Child CPR on Sunday June 2nd from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Space is limited and parents who volunteer in the nursery get first preference. There is a sign up sheet in the Narthex. Call Tracy Stebbins for more information at (W)495-9355 or (H) 324-1367.

LEM TRAINING - Several LEM training sessions will be occurring during the month of June. If you are interested in being trained to serve as an LEM at services at Resurrection, please contact Elizabeth.

CELL PHONES are a vital and important part of many people's work and life, however, we would greatly appreciate it if you would be mindful of the sacred space by remembering to turn off the ringer during church services.

ST. MARTHA'S GUILD will meet June 3rd at 12:30 p.m. in the Student Center for brown bag lunch and fellowship. Visitors and new members are always welcome.

SECOND SUNDAY SHARING is June 9th . Share your bounty and bring non-perishables for the food pantry.

SEARCH COMMITTEE UPDATE from John Beal: The committee will be visiting candidates for the position of rector this month. Please keep us in your prayers.

JOB JAR REOPENED - There are lots of odd jobs that need attention...some one time, some ongoing, some quarterly, some weekly. A few examples include: sweeping walks and ramps, sweeping gravel into the driveway, deadheading and weeding, picking up sticks, toting trash to street, fire ant and poison ivy patrol. The complete list is in the narthex. Choose a job, put your name by it, and when the job is completed, cross the item off the list! Call Douglas Crawford if you have questions about your job. This is not a lifetime commitment...consider it June & July only with a chance to re-up as new lists are posted! SCALES HOUSE - Plans are being tossed around for some in-house renovations of the Scales House. If you are interested in assisting with the project, contact Elizabeth.

HAVE YOU NOTICED? - The nursery wall has been painted and the area weeded and mulched. The area between the ramp and Student Center has been weeded and mulched. The Scales House roof was repaired. Church signs around town have been cleaned up. Utility hooks were installed in the new sacristy. Valences and blinds were hung in the Student Center. And the grass is being mowed regularly. We have our Junior Warden, Douglas Crawford to thank for doing all this work and much more that goes unnoticed. Don't forget to thank him...and better yet, offer to help!

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION for children and adults is on hiatus for the summer months, however, this is the time for us to make plans for next year. We are recruiting teachers for all ages, including adult classes. If you are interested in serving as a teacher or an assistant for all or part of the upcoming school year, please contact David Lewis.

POOL NEWS from Jay McCombs: At the request of several parishioners and based on past experience, there have been two changes in the pool rules. 1-All children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult, and 2- Adults accompanying children must know how to swim. Both changes are aimed at enhancing the safety of the pool!

MORE POOL NEWS - Don't forget the pool operates independently from the church budget and depends entirely on donations to survive! A family "membership fee" of $75 is suggested, and $40 for singles. If payment is a hardship, drop by the office to register so we can keep track of usage. The pool is a ministry for all to enjoy. If your summer guests need a place to swim, please make a contribution you think is appropriate. Make your check out to Church of the Resurrection and mark it "pool fund". Drop it in the plate on Sunday or bring it by the office. Remember: Our rules are simple, but must be observed! No swimming alone. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Parishioners must accompany guests. No glass containers. Clean up after yourself and take trash home with you. Last one out lock the gate! Important reminder: Nelda's only responsible for collecting checks and registrations. If you have questions or problems please contact the McCombs at 324-8269 jmccombs@hotmail.com or Jennifer Damms at 338-9022.

SPECIAL THANKS to Melinda Myers for two years of faithful service as Outreach Chairman.. Melinda had lots of fresh ideas and did an outstanding job. Thanks for a job well done, Melinda!

THANKS from Mary Eleanor Anderson to so many who have helped with all of our receptions and events during May. It was a busy month with wonderful celebrations and without so many of you helping we could not have been so successful. Thank you one and all!!

*The reception for Murray and Bobbe Sue Bullock gave us an opportunity to send them off and wish them well. Thanks to all who brought the delicious food...Juawice McCormick, Linda Cox, Mary Lee Beal, Susie Owings, Betsy Stark, Katharine Hollister, to Bob Anderson for setting up, and to Ellen Newsom for the flowers.

*At the Graduation Sunday reception it was wonderful to be able to congratulate all the graduates and to be a part of their celebrations. Thank you to Nancy Christiansen, Tracy Stebbins, Ellen Newsom, and Bob Anderson.

*The Pentecost Pool Party was a big success in spite of the cool weather. Some of the children even joined the Polar Bear Club by swimming in the COLD pool! Thanks to John and Jay McCombs for serving as chairpersons and bringing the homemade ice cream, watermelon and lemonade, and to Clark Callahan for donating the hamburgers, hotdogs and buns, and the use of his big cooker. More thanks to Clark for helping set up and to John Beal and Clark for doing the grilling. About 50 hearty folks came out and had a great time. Thanks to all!

*Lynn Barker's Ordination Celebration was an event that gave us all great joy! We felt honored to be able to be a part of Lynn's journey to what we all believe will be a wonderful lifetime ministry. The luncheon gave us a chance to congratulate Lynn and visit with our guest clergy and other friends.
