Holy Week Schedule

Sundays

  • 8:00 a.m. Holy Eucharist, Rite I (said)
  • 9:15 a.m. Christian Formation/Sunday School for all ages during school year. Resumes September 9th!
    Confirmation/Inquirer’s Classes begin in January!
  • 10:30 a.m. Holy Eucharist with Music, Rite II
  • 4:00 p.m. Episcopal Young Churchpeople (EYC) during school year.
    Resumes September 9th! Open to all in grades 7-12!

Wednesdays

Thursdays

  • 12:05 p.m. Holy Eucharist w/ Unction

On Sundays, the Church of the Resurrection offers a variety of worship services. All 8:00 a.m. services are said, while those at 10:30 a.m. usually include a variety of music and hymns. Sunday school/Christian formation takes place between the morning services, beginning at 9:15 sharp. A nursery is provided from 7:45 – 11:45 a.m.

    Welcoming Our NEW RECTOR: the Rev. J. Lee Winter preaches and celebrates, 8:00 & 10:30 a.m.

    St. Francis Day Celebration with Blessing of the Animals, 4:30 p.m.
    A celebration of God’s creation and our stewardship of the earth
  • October 31
    Blessing of the Trick-or-Treaters, 5:00 p.m.
    Keeping All Hallows’ Eve through story and song with blessings, ghoulies and goodies!
  • November 3
    Diocesan Confirmation Service, St. Andrew’s Cathedral, Jackson, 10:30 a.m.
  • November 3
    Eve of All Saints’ Sunday (TBA)
    An evening service honoring S/saints (old and new), parishioners, friends and dear ones received into God’s greater glory
  • December 2
    Advent Lessons & Carols, 5:30 p.m.
    The stories of the season retold in song and scripture, followed by a festive reception
  • December 24
    The Nativity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Christmas Eve, 5:30 & 10:30 p.m.
    • Family service, 5:00 p.m.
    • Special music at 10:30 p.m.
    • The Christ Mass at 11:00 p.m.

2008

  • February 6
    Ash Wednesday Liturgy with the Imposition of Ashes, 12:05 & 5:30 p.m.
    A penitential service inviting followers to a Holy Lent; 12:05 p.m. service held in the MSU Chapel of Memories; 5:30 p.m. service at Resurrection
  • Lent
    Stations of the Cross, 5:30 p.m. on Fridays in Lent
    Home Communions, as announced during Lent
  • Holy Week
    Daily Services and Proper Liturgies (TBA)
  • March 22
    The Great Vigil of Easter followed by the Easter Feast (TBA)
    The first Eucharist of Easter is celebrated by the retelling of the story of salvation in song and scripture, followed by a festive reception
  • March 23
    The Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Easter Day, 8:00 & 10:30 a.m.
    Special music at 10:30 a.m. service
  • March 30
    Bishop’s Visitation to Resurrection AND MSU, 10:30 a.m.
    Bishop Gray will baptize, confirm and receive new members into the Church. A festal luncheon follows.

    Youth Sunday & Senior Sunday, 10:30 a.m.
    Worship led by youth of the parish and the honoring of graduating high school and university students
