We,
the Parishioners sincerely appreciate your interest in the Church of the
Resurrection as your future parish home. We have much to offer. As you
read about us, we hope that you will share our excitement about the opportunities
offered at the Church of the Resurrection.
In 1888, the Diocese of Mississippi established a mission church in Starkville. In 1975, the Diocese granted parish status to the Church of the Resurrection. The Parish serves both the community and Mississippi State University.

Our Parish now has some 300 active communicants, as well as MSU students who worship with us. Our membership is diverse, with a wide range of ages and backgrounds and the high level of education found in a university community.
The Rev. Lee Winter has served our parish as rector since October, 2007.
Lee has graduate degrees in Counseling (Louisiana Tech University), Social Work (M.S.W., The University of Alabama), and a Master of Divinity degree from the University of the South, Sewanee, TN.
He began his career as a pilot in the U. S. Air Force as an aircrew commander in 1971. After that he graduated from Sewanee, and later served congregations in Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana.
The
Rev.
Brian Ponder
joined the Resurrection and Canterbury community July 1,
2004, serving as assistant priest and Canterbury
Chaplain.
Brian has continued Resurrection's vision of being a parish not only to the Starkville community but to the MSU community and incorporating MSU students into the life of the parish.
The Church of the Resurrection employs a parish administrator, a professional organist-choirmaster, EYC (junior high and senior high school youth group) coordinator, and nursery worker. Dedicated parishioners serve as the Treasurer and fulfill many other needed services.
